Wood Fired Pizza Oven Facade

This was my first commercial project, in 2003, for a restaurant in Downtown Olympia, WA. The mosaic was done onto hardi-board panels, which the contractor bolted to the stainless steel oven. The interior design theme of the space was "interlocking arches" in rust-orange and sage-green, so I created a design that would not be too busy, with a simple set of orange lines, relying on the andamento for visual interest within the green background.
Later, I was hired to design a moveable dividing wall to create a sense of privacy in areas of the open-floor dining room. I collaborated with artist Loralin Toney, who built the structure, and I added mosaic inlay with stained glass windows that allow some light to pass through.
